Lumina — Salon Intelligence
In-chair salon operating system: on-device biometric visual consultation, luminance-preserving hair recolor, chemical formulation safety gates, interleaved scheduling, and biological retention alerts.
About This Model
See the cut before the scissors. Mix the formula before the bowl.
Lumina is an in-chair salon operating system that closes the gap between client inspiration and the salon floor. Instead of another administrative booking tool that taxes appointments from the outside, Lumina enters the chair: on-device biometric morphology, luminance-preserving hair recoloring, deterministic chemical safety gates, interleaved scheduling, and backbar inventory tracking.
The industry still argues in adjectives
Incumbent software digitized the calendar and added booking fees. It never entered the consultation chair:
- Subjective consultations: Clients bring filtered, 2D social media photos that conflict with their facial structure or hair density. Without an objective preview, regret is scheduled in.
- 15–25% chemical waste: Bowls mixed by eye never hit inventory. Oxidative dyes, developers, and lighteners are wasted, while formulas are lost on sticky notes.
- Dead processing time: Traditional salon calendars treat 30–45 minute chemical processing windows as dead time rather than revenue-generating opportunities.
- Retention that forgets biology: Toners fade on a shampoo clock and roots grow half an inch a month. Generic SMS reminders ignore chemical and biological reality.
Four moments. One chair ledger.
1. Visual Consultation & Morphology Scan
- On-Device Biometrics: MediaPipe facial landmarks and hair segmentation run locally in the client's browser (WASM). Client portrait photos and landmark vectors never touch the server.
- Deterministic Morphology: Measures facial thirds, fifths, and cranial ratios to classify face shape (Oval, Round, Square, Rectangle, Heart, Diamond, Pear) and 12-season colorimetry.
- Luminance-Preserving Recolor: Samples hair hex from authored catalog looks or stylist uploads with rights attestation. Interactive side-by-side slider compare lets client and stylist agree before shears touch hair.
- AI Chair Briefing: Google Gemini generates a concise chair briefing and talking points from computed biometric facts—no photos or masks are sent to the AI.
2. Hair Biology Card & Chemical Safety Gates
- Hair Biology Card: Tracks natural base level, current ends level, gray hair percentage, porosity rating, curl pattern, strand caliper, and elasticity score.
- Automated Contraindication Gates: Automatically blocks oxidative color on previous metallic dye history (requires strand test), active scalp lesions, or compromised elasticity.
- Gram-Accurate Formulation: Computes exact gram recipes for base shades, tone boosters, and developer volume (10/20/30/40 vol). Caps developer at 20-vol with oligopeptide bond builders on high porosity.
3. Interleaved Chair Scheduling
- Monetize Processing Windows: Breaks appointments into three distinct blocks: Application, Processing, and Finishing.
- Chair Yield Optimization: When processing time exceeds 20 minutes, the chair unlocks so the stylist can accommodate an express client or blowout without schedule clashes.
4. Backbar Inventory & Retention Radar
- Gram-Level Depletion: Dispenses exact chemical mass against backbar inventory, preventing negative stock and flagging reorder thresholds.
- Retention Radar: Tracks days since last chemical visit and flags clients entering their maintenance window before they churn.
- Intake Waivers & Client 360: Digital consultation tickets, patch-test liability waivers, and formulation histories stored in one place.
Who uses it
- Stylists and Colorists: To eliminate client anxiety, visually align expectations, and mix safe, repeatable formulas.
- Salon Owners and Managers: To stop backbar chemical waste, audit stock depletion, and maximize chair yield per square meter.
- Modern Hair Ateliers & Studios: To deliver a quiet-luxury, high-trust consultation experience backed by objective biometrics.
Good to know
- Dual-Media Privacy & Licensing: Client portraits are processed entirely on-device via browser WebAssembly. Consent is in-session and photos are never used for model training. Target styles use authored catalog looks or stylist uploads with copyright checkboxes (no scraping of uncredited databases).
- Procedural Recolor, Not Fake Diffusion: Recolor samples hair hex onto a segmentation mask while preserving natural luminance. It does not generate fake AI faces or hallmarked identity transfers.
- Deterministic Math, Not Hallucinated Chemistry: Formulation safety rules and cranial measurements are deterministic code. Gemini only provides structured chair conversational notes from verified measurements.
- No GPU Infrastructure Required: Runs responsively on tablets, iPads, and salon workstations.
- Metered Prepaid Billing: Billed at €0.05 per consultation session from your Sensifai prepaid wallet balance. Empty wallets safely pause billed try-ons with a transparent top-up path.
